Rennes, a French football club based in Lorient, has accepted a €30 million ($32.6 million) offer from English Premier League (EPL) side Everton for their star player Terrien.
The 25-year-old winger, who has scored 11 goals and provided 8 assists in all competitions this season, is expected to join Everton's squad in the coming weeks. The move is seen as a major coup for the Toffees, who have been searching for a replacement for Ross Barkley, who left the club last summer.
Terrien has made over 100 appearances for Rennes since joining the club in 2017, scoring 29 goals and providing 14 assists. He has also represented France at various levels, including the Under-21s and U21s.
Everton manager Marco Silva said: "We are delighted to bring Terrien to our club. He is a talented young player with great potential, and we believe he can make a significant impact in the Premier League."
The acquisition of Terrien is part of Everton's efforts to strengthen their midfield department ahead of the upcoming season. They are also looking to improve their defense, which saw them concede 53 goals in the EPL last term.
Everton's transfer window is still open until January, so there is still time for the club to make more signings before the transfer deadline. However, it remains to be seen whether they will continue to pursue other targets or stick to their current plans.
