Lille have announced that Jonathan Tah has renewed his contract with the club until 2027 and that he will be earning a salary increase of 50%.

The defender signed for Lille in 2018 from Rennes and has since established himself as one of the key players in the team's midfield.

Tah made over 40 appearances for the club last season, contributing to their successful campaign which saw them win the Ligue 1 title and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The news comes after a difficult period for the club who were relegated from Ligue 1 last season and had a number of high-profile departures during the summer transfer window.

However, the signing of Tah and the extension of his contract is seen as a positive move by the club, who hope it will help them rebuild their squad and compete at the highest level once again next season.

In addition to the salary increase, Tah will also receive a bonus of €2 million for winning the league title and €1 million for reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The defender's new deal means that he will now be earning €3.6 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid defenders in Europe.

Overall, this is a significant boost for Lille and shows the club's commitment to building a strong squad ahead of next season. With Tah in the side, they will be hoping to make a fresh start under new manager Christophe Galtier and challenge for honours once again.
