Lens, the French Ligue 1 side, has announced that they have accepted a transfer offer from Bundesliga side FC Augsburg for defender Ondrej Duda.

The move is worth 40 million Euros and will see Duda join Augsburg on a five-year deal. The Czech international has been with Lens since 2015 and has made over 100 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Duda's departure to Augsburg comes as a shock to many fans who had hoped he would stay at the Stade de Boulogne until the end of his contract in June 2022. However, the club's hierarchy decided it was time for Duda to move on and find new opportunities elsewhere.

Augsburg, meanwhile, are looking to strengthen their defense after losing key players such as Stefan Savić and Kevin Maguire during the summer transfer window. Duda's arrival could provide them with much-needed cover in defence ahead of the new season.

Overall, this transfer looks like a win-win situation for both parties involved. Duda gets to play in a top-flight league and earn more money than he can currently do in France, while Augsburg get a player with experience and potential to help them compete for promotion to the Bundesliga next season.
